The Horses
The horses of Sunny Oak Farm are known for personality, safety, and heart.
Domino
Domino is the horse that was bought at the kitchen table sight unseen. He was described as a really nice horse I'd (Rosy) like; "he's parade ready!" Which meant he was ready to learn and do anything! He was too nice of a horse to be sold at the auctions. Over the years Domino has had many jobs such as working longhorn cattle, Dressage, a Jumper in horse shows. He is tall, dark, and handsome. Especially with that one blue eye of his! Domino is very kind, forgiving, and his favorite thing is to be groomed.
Scooter
Scooter has had a fan club for years, and it just keeps on growing! One of his first riders named his stuffed animal "Scooter". Another rider refers to Sunny Oak as Scooter's House! Before he came to us Scooter was an Event horse, which means he did Dressage, Stadium Jumping, and Cross-Country Jumping! Now that he's a sweet old man, he is a rock star Therapy horse! We are thankful his previous owner chose to share him with us!
Timothy
In 1988 a 3 month old miniature donkey was lifted into the trailer and brought home to Sunny Oak. With ears bigger than his body, he looked like Timothy the Church Mouse. (An old cartoon mouse character) At the beginning, the other horses wouldn't come up to the barn because his bray was a scary sound to hear. Once they got over themselves they made fast friends! Timmy loves to be everyone's friend and is on the greeting committee to visitors on the farm. His best friend though is Domino!
Jasper
This handsome fellow is one of the favorite camp horses. He is also becoming a wonderful addition to the Therapy team! His cremello coloring makes him the first pick for campers to decorate their horses. Jasper loves to help open and close the mailbox for his riders. His curious personality makes everyone smile. Jeffy the barn kitty is his buddy.

Blaze
This sweet guy is another member of our Greeting Committee. He loves to watch lessons and will stand next to any visitor also watching lessons. Blaze loves to be scratched and will put anything in his mouth. He's quite the curious with a hint of mischievous character. Blaze is a rescue that came to the farm in 2013. Watching him and Timothy play tug-o-war with a feed bucket makes everyone laugh.
Harley
In his younger years Harley was a two time Morgan World Champion Hunter Under Saddle title holder. He's a fancy guy with a heart of gold! He even spent some years as a collegiate school horse. When he needed a break he came to stay with us. We've lost count on how many vacation days he's spent with us, but he can stay with us forever if he wants to. Harley still loves to work and jump. He even has his own fan club whenever he gets the chance to show. He is one of our most spirited, handsome, and special horses!
Cody
His friendly personality and beautiful spotted coloring entices everyone to want to ride Cody! He greets all visitors as they walk to the tack room. If the tack room door isn't shut fully he will lean over the gate and push it open. Before becoming a therapy pony he used to compete in Jumper shows and Speed Events such as Barrel Racing and Pole Bending. Now that his life is a bit more relaxed his favorite job is to spend lessons standing in the middle of the arena being groomed and fussed over by our unmounted clients.
Tinker
Even though we sometimes call him "Tinker the Stinker", Tink is one of our most trusted therapy ponies! One time a rider who had mobility difficulties ended up falling off and landing between his feet during a lesson. Tinker did not move a single inch until his rider was helped. We were thankful his rider left the lesson without a scratch on him! Not much phases Tink. Even the most vocal or active of rider does not bother him. He's very patient and kind. In his past life Tinker was a little girl's first pony, a tried and true lesson horse, and even competed in many horse shows and events.

Petey
We often call this special guy "Petey the Wonder Pony" because of how awesome he is! This multi-talented guy will carefully take a 2 year old therapeutic rider safely around the arena with his leader and side-walkers helping him out. While a couple days later he can go and compete in a Hunter Derby at a horse show! In his past life he competed as a Pony Jumper. His former family loves receiving photos showing them what his new life is like and the happiness he brings to our riders and volunteers. He also has the softest coat out of all the other horses on the farm!
